What’s Growin’ On for 2026?

The Green Team is in full swing planting annuals and perennials at Creek Side Gardens.

Container Gardens & Hanging Baskets

All the greenhouses are filling up with the big, beautiful plants you expect from us.

  • Over the last three weeks the first round of Grown Fresh container gardens and hanging baskets have been planted in an assortment of sizes.
  • More and more Geraniums, Petunias, Calibrachoa/ Million Bells, Verbena and Sweet Potato Vine than you can imagine.
  • It will be fun to see all the new colors of flowers as they come into bloom over the next several weeks!

The early season six pack planting is under way.

  • Check out the nice pansy 6 packs and hanging baskets available now for a little early color on your porch or patio!
  • Pansies and violas, snapdragons, dianthus plus a few of the summer annuals that take a little longer to grow like celosia, dusty miller, gazania.
Herbs & Veggies

Seed sowing for peppers and early cool season vegetables has taken place in the greenhouse so the nice, fresh transplants for your garden will be ready right on time.

  • Tomato seeds will be planted beginning next week.
  • Followed by seed sowing for squashes, cucumbers, melons, pumpkins and more in April.
  • Big herb pot planting coming up next week for spring gardens.
  • In addition to the fresh herb plants Creek Side offers year around.  Check out the herb pot combos for your windowsill now.
Perennials

Perennials were planted last summer and this winter to get ready for the spring season.

  • Grown Fresh Perennials are moving outside or down to a cooler house so that we can begin the conditioning necessary to get them ready for cool season planting beginning in April.
  • Creek Side is growing an especially large selection of new perennial varieties to help keep our gardening interests going!  Stop by to check out what is beginning to bloom now.

Working in the greenhouse is the next best thing to working outside.  Except when it’s cold outside it is nice and toasty in the greenhouse, so it is even better than outside at this time of the year.  All the greenhouses have plants growing in them, so we are beginning to fill up fast.  But we will find just a little more space to keep planting until they are all completely full.

Stop by for a greenhouse tour or to check out the greenhouses for yourself!
