It’s Getting Exciting!

Around Creek Side, we know Springtime is really on the way, when the Green Team has spent the last two weeks planting in the Greenhouse.  The Greenhouse planting will continue every week from now through April as we create our beautiful combinations of colorful annual flowers and garden perennials.

Not only are we planting but, serious re-decorating is taking place in the Gift Shop and Glasshouse as new gift, home décor and garden décor selections are arriving every week.  We’ll be ready for you when our doors open again for business on Saturday February 24th at 9am!

As the season progresses, keep your eyes open for a few new product lines being grown in the greenhouse.  For cool season gardeners, check out the pansy, alyssum and dianthus combo baskets that will flower nicely outside in mid-April.  In addition to the new colors in the Calliope series geraniums we discussed in our last eNews letter, look for Pillar geraniums on a trellis, the mosquito repellent Citronella geranium, unique Brocade geraniums with a dark leaf and bright flowers and geraniums with variegated leaves.  Lots of new selections of fun and different annual flowers in small pots like Batface Cuphea, Salvia Hotlips, Atomic Purple Celosia and a few sneak peek 2019 new variety introductions from the breeders.

In the perennial and shrub department, we have doubled the number of Grown Fresh clematis in 6” pots, offering 12 different varieties for planting this May.  Look for colorful hydrangeas for Mother’s Day, that will be terrific gift plants for Mom that can then be planted in the garden.  Plus, a wide array of garden hydrangeas in an assortment of colors and heights that will be available throughout the spring and summer.  Find a big selection of over 14 different varieties of perennial grasses.  How about something different, like a winter hardy variety of Alstromeria?

Creek Side will offer more trees for your landscape than ever before.  The assortment will include at least 5 different varieties of the ever popular ‘Autumn Blaze” type maples.  Each variety will grow between 20’ – 40’ tall sporting its own unique bright fall color.

For your blooming patio décor, we have expanded our flowering tropical plant offerings beginning mid-April.  The selection will again include Mandevilla on a trellis, Hibiscus trees and bushes, Gardenia bushes, Meyer Lemons and a variety of tropical plants suitable for enjoying on your patio or inside your home.

We’ll see you soon!
