Holiday Gifts and Décor
Months ago, we were thinking about the upcoming holiday season at Creek Side. Holiday gifts, candles, towels, jewelry and so much more begins to arrive in July. All is tucked away until late September when our boutique area becomes a staging ground for all our treasures. With the wall curtained off, the excitement builds for our customers just waiting for the ‘reveal’.
On a given night in late October, our green team elves rally together for a nighttime set up. We pull back the curtain and each green team member will begin to create a themed space. Holiday party, ski town, woodlands are just a few of the themes we are showcasing this year.
The Creek Side Boutique is always a great place for finding a gift for her. At this time of the year, scarves, lap blankets, cold weather attire, jewelry and specialty candles are just some of the gifts you will find in the boutique.
When the trick or treating is over, and the pumpkins are wilting, come over to Creek Side for the 2020 holiday season.
Perennials Ready for Over-Wintering
Over the summer, we planted over 4000 large pots of perennials to begin to get ready for next year. All of them have been placed in our unheated greenhouses for winter protection. After our first hard frost, the tops of the plants will be cut back and cleaned up. In the meantime, their growth rates have been slowing down, but the roots continue to grow which is the important. That way they will be stronger through the winter months and ready for planting early next spring.
New Greenhouse Projects
We are building a new greenhouse around the gazebo you drive by on your way out of the parking lot. It will increase our greenhouse growing space so we can continue to grow and meet our customers needs. A new air conditioning system is being installed in House 2. Not only will the plants appreciate the nice cool temperatures next summer, so will you while you are shopping. Really nice when we can invest in and improve our growing systems so that we can create the very best shopping and growing environment for our plants and our customers!
