herbsEverybody can grow herbs and veggies if interested. There are many techniques that may be used to accommodate all sorts of growing situations. Everybody envisions the traditional garden plot in the backyard. Till up a garden area and get planting. With limited space consider raised beds to create an intensive growing area where water and fertilizer applications can be carefully monitored and maintained. No yard at all? No problem, herbs and vegetables may be very successfully grown in containers on your patio or balcony. Use anything from a patio pot to window box to an old wooden barrel to hanging baskets. You can make it work.

Creek Side Gardens chooses a big selection of herb and vegetable varieties for all gardeners. We sow the seeds in our own greenhouses to get them an early start for the season in your herb garden. Begin your vegetable garden in April with early, cool season selections like broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, peas and kohlrabi vegetables. Tomato and pepper planting usually takes place in May with varieties such as traditional hybrids as well as heirlooms with organic and non-organically grown plants to choose from. Cucumbers, squashes, melons and pumpkins can be planted in May as well along with most of the herbs you are interested in growing.
