Fertilome® 4-Step Lawn Care Program

For your lawn to look its best spring, summer and fall, in addition to water, it needs nutrients. The Creek Side Lawn Care program is developed with the premise that regular fertilization, along with aeration, good mowing and watering practices, is key to maintaining a strong, healthy lawn. A healthy lawn is more resistant to weeds and disease problems.  Creek Side promotes the Fertilome® brand  4-Step Lawn Care Program which includes four steps designed to keep your lawn healthy throughout the growing season.

Step 1

Fertilome’s® For All Seasons II fertilizer and weed preventer. One of the most effective ways to control weeds in your lawn is to prevent them from showing up in the first place and this product works to keep weed seed from germinating.  Including crabgrass, Step 1 is applied between mid-March and mid-April.

Step 2

Weed-Out Plus Lawn Fertilizer is Step 2. Weed-Out Plus works to control weeds you can see. This is the product to apply for dandelions and other weeds you can see in your lawn. Weed-Out Plus also feeds your lawn and is applied around the first of June.

Another option for Step 2, would be to substitute Lawn Food Plus Iron to nourish your lawn.  Then apply liquid Fertilome Weed-Out with Crabgrass Killer or Weed Free Zone through a hose-end sprayer for weed control.

Step 3

Classic Lawn Food with slow release nitrogen that is applied in August to September, right when your lawn needs a good shot of nitrogen as night temperatures are cooling down after the long hot summer.

Step 4

Winterizer to be applied in October, when your grass is storing up energy for the winter weather ahead.   Winterizer fertilizer goes right to the roots of your turf and strengthens the roots to prepare for the winter.

Each of the products in the Creek Side Lawn Care program are available in 20-pound bags, which will cover up to 5,000 square feet of lawn.
