The wonderful aromas of Christmas are in the air and to keep the holiday smells fresh is to add a little bit of humidity to our dry, indoor environment during the Colorado winter. The following DIY recipe will do both! Make an extra batch (uncooked) to share or freeze the recipe ingredients and pull out at a moment’s notice.
Ingredients
• 3 cinnamon sticks (3″-6″ long)
• 2 bay leaves
• 1 Tablespoon whole cloves
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
• 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
• 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
• 3 lemon slices
• 3 orange slices
• 1-1/2 quarts water
Instructions
Combine all ingredients in a slow cooker (crockpot). Simmer on warm, add more water as needed. If preparing in a medium saucepan for stove top use, simmer on low heat and add water as needed.
