It Must Be Fall!

Football is back on TV, summer vacations are over, kids are back in school and the rich earthy color tones of the fall season are here. The nights are beginning to cool off which triggers that inescapable feeling that we are ready to move on; it must be Fall!!

Time to transition your outdoor living spaces from summer to fall. New fall flowers, pansies and mums are all here at Creek Side Gardens. Pumpkins, corn stalk bundles and bales of straw will round out your outside décor.

The Creek Side Gardens FALL PORCH KIT

Uniquely ours, creating a ‘one and done’ porch kit years ago, the idea has been a big hit ever since. Many customers come in early and ask, ‘when will you have your porch kits?’ By the 2nd week of September, we will have the components to make your porch kit which includes (1) bale of straw, (1) bundle of corn stalks, (1) medium size pumpkin and (1) 8” flowering mum. Purchase more that one ‘kit’ for a grander display.

Garden Stakes

If you need something extra to stick into the bale of straw, we have some fun, colorful and seasonal garden stakes. Metal pumpkins and owls are a delightful addition to your yard. Metal scarecrows have solar heads and will illuminate at night.

Tis the season for ghosts and freaky things in your yard or patio.

Specialty Pumpkins

Classic pumpkins are perfect for carving and porch kits but remember we also carry some unusual varieties. Cinderella, Jarlsberg, Long Island Cheese, and Ghost pumpkins are great additions to your outdoor space. Stacking the colors makes a great ‘Zen’ Cairn.

Miniature pumpkins are so much fun! You can pull out your glue gun and adhere some faux leaves, flowers or moss to the top and create a decorative and long-lasting pumpkin to your Halloween and Thanksgiving table. Jack-Be-Little and Wee-Be Little pumpkins and small gourds and perfect for a holiday table runner with greenery, candles and natural elements.

Pie Pumpkins are just that, great for making pies. Just prepare the ‘meat’ or the ‘pulp’ of the pumpkin from a favorite recipe. Serving a hearty fall soup? Hollow out small pie pumpkins and use it as a bowl for your soup.

Annual Fall Flowers for Porch and Patio

As hot as our summer has been, even with the best care, summer annual flowers may be looking a little tired about now. What a perfect time to change it up!

Remove all spent summer annuals, remove old roots and debris. Till in some fresh potting soil and your ‘summer’ pot is ready for the bright jewel tones of fall. Creek Side has fall flowers for you. Mums, rudbeckia (black-eyed Susan), zinnia, kale, ornamental peppers and pansies.

Whatever you create this fall season, be sure to stop by Creek Side and let one of our Green Team members help you design a new patio pot or help load you up with the elements of the porch kit.
